IQ Testing
IQ evaluations for children, teens, and adults in McKinney. Standardized cognitive assessment for gifted placement, eligibility questions, and a clearer understanding of strengths and needs.
Who this helps
IQ testing can be useful across ages when you need a clear, standardized picture of thinking skills.
- Children and teens being considered for gifted and talented or advanced academic programs.
- Students who need an updated IQ score for placement, eligibility, or school service decisions.
- Individuals with learning, attention, or developmental concerns who need a clearer picture of thinking strengths and weaknesses.
- Adults seeking an intelligence test for career questions, personal insight, or organizations such as Mensa.
When IQ testing is appropriate
Cognitive testing can answer questions about reasoning, memory, and problem-solving abilities. It may be requested by a school, program, or provider, or pursued for your own clarity.
- A school, program, or organization requires a recent IQ score.
- You are exploring gifted program eligibility or academic placement.
- There are questions about thinking skills alongside learning, attention, or medical concerns.
- You want a baseline cognitive profile to support planning for school, work, or long-term care.
What we assess
- Overall intellectual functioning (full-scale IQ) and index scores such as verbal comprehension, visual–spatial skills, working memory, and processing speed.
- Patterns of strengths and weaknesses related to learning, attention, or developmental concerns, not just a single number.
- How current cognitive performance aligns with school, workplace, or program expectations and requirements.

IQ testing FAQs
Do you offer IQ testing for both children and adults?
Yes. We provide IQ testing for children, teens, and adults. We select age-appropriate, standardized measures and tailor the evaluation to questions such as gifted identification, eligibility for services, or better understanding of strengths and needs.
Will these IQ tests work for gifted programs or other placements?
We typically use widely accepted, norm-referenced measures (such as the WISC-V, WAIS, or similar tools) that many schools and programs recognize. We review any specific score or test requirements in advance and, while we cannot guarantee acceptance by every program, we provide clear scores and a detailed report you can submit.
How should we prepare and what should we bring to IQ testing?
Plan for a typical, low-stress day, with good sleep and a meal or snack beforehand. Bring glasses, hearing aids, or assistive devices you normally use, as well as any prior testing, school reports, or program paperwork. Let us know about sensory, mobility, or language needs so we can keep the testing environment comfortable.
What will the results include and how can we use them?
Your feedback visit reviews full-scale and index scores, patterns of strengths and weaknesses, and what they may mean for school, work, and daily life. You receive a written report in plain language, which you can share with schools, medical providers, or organizations (including gifted programs or Mensa) to support placement decisions and accommodation requests where appropriate.
