Learning & Intellectual Disability Testing

Learning disability and intellectual evaluations for children and teens in McKinney, including Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia. Clear reports for IEP/504 planning, with virtual intake and in-person testing.

  • Children and teens with suspected Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, or other learning differences.
  • Families with questions about overall learning or intellectual abilities and school placement.
  • Parents and educators seeking documentation for IEPs, 504 plans, or classroom accommodations.

When to consider a learning or intellectual evaluation

  • Reading accuracy or fluency struggles, spelling challenges, or written work that does not match a student’s ideas.
  • Math calculation or problem-solving difficulties that persist despite tutoring and targeted support.
  • Unclear whether concerns are due to learning differences, attention, language, emotional factors, or a combination.
  • Questions about overall cognitive abilities, adaptive functioning, or eligibility for school-based services.

What we assess

  • Cognitive abilities, working memory, processing speed, language, and phonological processing.
  • Academic skills in reading (decoding, fluency, comprehension), writing (spelling, composition), and math (calculation, reasoning).
  • Attention, executive functions, and emotional or behavioral context when relevant.

Learning & Intellectual Disabilities evaluation FAQs

Do you diagnose Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia?

Yes. When appropriate, we provide formal diagnoses such as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia, as well as intellectual disability or other learning-related conditions. We explain what each diagnosis means and how it connects to classroom supports.

Will this evaluation help with IEP or 504 planning?

Our reports are written for both families and school teams. We include test scores, clear interpretations, and concrete recommendations. While schools make their own eligibility decisions, our evaluations often inform IEPs, 504 plans, and accommodation discussions.

What should we bring to the intake and testing visits?

Please bring prior evaluations, school testing, recent report cards, IEP/504 documents, and any teacher notes you have. If your student uses glasses, hearing aids, or assistive devices, they should bring those to testing as well.

Do you coordinate with my child’s school?

With your written permission, we can share results with your child’s school team or join a meeting to review key findings. We aim to translate the evaluation into concrete next steps for teachers and support staff.
