Mood, Anxiety & Behavioral Evaluation FAQs
Do you evaluate adults as well as children and teens?
Yes. We evaluate children, adolescents, and adults for mood, anxiety, and behavioral concerns. We adjust our interviews, questionnaires, and feedback discussions to match age, life stage, and roles at school, home, or work.
What conditions do you assess in this evaluation?
We provide psychological evaluation for anxiety, depression, and related mood and behavioral disorders. This can include generalized anxiety, panic, OCD, social anxiety, depressive disorders, irritability, behavioral outbursts, oppositional or defiant behavior, and shutdown or withdrawal. We also screen for overlapping conditions such as ADHD, learning differences, sleep problems, and medical factors so recommendations are based on a full picture.
How is a psychological evaluation different from therapy?
An evaluation is a short-term, focused process. Our role is to clarify what is happening, identify any diagnoses, and offer mood disorder psychological testing data that can guide therapy, medication, school planning, and other supports. We do not provide ongoing therapy within this evaluation, but we coordinate with your current therapist or psychiatrist and can offer referrals when needed.
What will we receive after the evaluation?
You receive a readable written report summarizing history, test results, and diagnostic impressions, along with practical recommendations for home, school, and work. For teens, this may include documentation to support an evaluation for depression or anxiety in school settings, IEP/504 accommodations, or workplace/college ADA accommodations. With your permission, we can share results with your medical and therapy providers so your care team in McKinney and surrounding areas stays coordinated.
